I made two Jack/Ianto photomanips for [info]torchwooddiary . She wanted to take one to Collectormania and have it signed by John and Gareth. She decided to take both and have them signed but, ended up giving one to John and one to Gareth.

These are the photomanips I made:

Happy Holidays -- which means Merry Christmas, in my world. Updating the layout, which is actually the old layout in disguise.

Designer #1: So what do you want the parameter name to be?
Designer #2: Let's call it "xmlFileUrl", with the "f" and the "u" capitalized.

Gay coworker to female coworker in white dress: You look so "sacrificial virgin" today.
Female coworker: Um... Thank you?
Gay coworker, whispering: What kind of fabric is that?
Female coworker, whispering: Cotton.
Gay coworker: It looks fun.

Questions?

What is your favorite big monster movie?

Mine is easy, the original King Kong. Some of the acting is questionable (Kong, an animated character, may be a better actor than Bruce Cabot) but the story holds up, and there has never been a sexier female lead in a monster movie than Fay Wray.

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 11:22 AM
And it is here.

Anything sparked by last year's stocking would also be most welcome. (I didn't think to cut and paste, and it says some things I wish I'd included. OTOH, brevity has its virtues.)

Wanna play? Sign up here. [info]fandom_stocking is a free-form exchange, so you're not committing to any particular prompt or assignment. And of course you don't have to have a stocking of your own to contribute to someone else's. Art, vids, fanmixes, icons, whatever are all welcome, not just fic.

Applause and virtual cookies to [info]medie for making it happen!

New Moon, retold in lolcat form

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 11:07 AM
Via [info]cleolinda, your handy portal to Sparkle!Crack mockage of all descriptions.

Is here. I would have laughed and moved on rather than reposting, but there are a couple of hilarious variations on the standard lolcat-retelling formula. Particularly the Months of Moping sequence.

♫ ELEGYCITY
w h e r e t h e m u s i c i s i n y o u r s o u l
Elegy is a community-based, panfandom roleplay
played out in a red light district setting where
two rival Houses fight for dominance and
where music influences all aspects of the city,
even giving characters strange abilities.

Although we presently have no Who cast, we'd love to see some! We also accept original characters including fandom-based ones!

Continutity Errors (slight spoiler)

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 10:17 AM
Continuity Errors...

This post is somewhat in honor of DT, since on the commentaries, he's always pointing out "continuity errors"... This is from a purely technical standpoint. (I majored in Tech Theatre, so see these kinds of things all the time - like it drives me nuts in some Doctor close-ups when you can see DTs contact lenses.)

Here are a couple I've noticed in the Children in Need 2009 Special:

1) In the close-ups when the Doctor has his sunglasses on and is talking with Sigma (when they're near the TARDIS), you can see the camera crew reflected in them. Why isn't it "Ood Sigma"? Because there's more than one body reflected - count them **grins**.

2) When the Doctor is walking into the Circle of the Elder of the Odd, his hat and lei are in his left hand... but as he approaches the circle to sit down, there's nothing in his hands... they just "vanish".
